New season of FPV championship UADR Challenge 2019 Stage 1 in Kiev.

The opening of the new season of the Ukrainian drone racing championship UADR Challenge 2019 took place on May 12 in the extreme park X-Park in Kiev. X-Park is located on Trukhanov Island on the Dnieper River, which gathered all possible extreme entertainment, such as motocross, wakeboarding, skimboarding, pump track and much more. Drone racing is no less extreme hobby, so the track is located among the trees in the park area, next to the all-terrain vehicle track.

The first round of 2019 immediately attracted a record number of pilots. Out of 52 pilots registered for the stage, 49 pilots, 14 teams from 10 cities of Ukraine took part in the championship. The number of participants has seriously increased due to novice pilots under 14 years old.

The race was held according to the usual scheme for UADR: the first stage is qualifying, after which the TOP-32 pilots who showed the best time are made up. Then the standings are built, and flights of 4 pilots with elimination after two defeats (Double Elimination) are held.

For 3 years UADR (Ukrainian Association of Drone Racing) competitions have gone a long way from chaotic flights with hateful transponders to competitions with strict rules and modern equipment. Last year a serious step was the complete refusal to use linear antennas and video transmitters with power higher than 25mW. Now one of the new rules was the mandatory presence of LED lighting on the quadcopter, although this rule was not observed by all pilots. Qualification and the main competition due to the large number of participants was delayed until 22.00, but it was a plus, as both spectators and pilots could see how spectacular in the evening look quadcopters with LED backlight.

2nd place - Dmitry Faermark, Odessa, Flymod Squad
3rd place - Igor Butseroga, Kiev, GRP team
4th place - Alexander Shemyakov, Kiev, QuadRAT team.
