On May 6-7 in the framework of the first Chernihiv Air Festival at the airfield "Pivtsy" was held the first stage of the Ukrainian Drone Racing Championship UADR CHALLENGE 2017 "Chernihiv Drone Racing Cup", in which the Flymod team directly participated.

The competition was held against the backdrop of the air festival, in which almost a dozen and a half small airplanes made spectacular flights, in addition, the festival visitors had the opportunity to admire parachute jumps, watch the balloon launch, as well as to try to fly light-engine airplanes. The runway, where the planes were constantly landing, was only a few tens of meters away from the drone racing track, which added to the spectacle of the whole event.

The first day, May 6, was completely devoted to the study of the competition course. Many pilots suffered serious losses and crashes already in training, mainly due to the difficulty of passing the metal cube and unsuccessful location of the starting area, which was later corrected. At the end of the first day was qualification, in which each pilot had to show his best time, which determined the placement of pilots in the groups of the standings. Four pilots who showed the best time went straight to the top 8 of the upper grid, they were Kukharenko, Lukashchuk, Podakov and Yatsenko.

The second day, May 7, immediately plunged into the atmosphere of tough Challenge. The turmoil accompanying the preparation for the main part of the championship heated up to the limit and already competitive atmosphere of the championship. The competition was held in several stages and was divided into upper and lower tournament grids. Four pilots took part in each flight at the same time, the two winners moved further up the standings of the upper grid, the two losers got into the lower grid. The losers of the lower grid flights were eliminated from the competition, and the winners of the lower grid were given one more chance to try their luck and reach the final. In total 28 pilots from all over Ukraine took part in the competition.

The winner of the first stage of UADR CHALLENGE 2017 "Chernihiv Drone Racing Cup" was Viktor Dzenzel.
