FPV drone racing at the UADR Challenge 2019 Stage 4 Championship in Odesa

Odessa, the hometown of FLYMOD.net, finally waited to host the UADR Challenge stage! On July 27 and 28, under the hot southern sun, a hundred meters from the sea and a few blocks from the historical center of Odessa, at the stadium "Dynamo" pilots from different parts of Ukraine competed for the titles of not only the fastest, but also the most resistant to sun radiation.

The place of the competition was distinguished by its convenient location to the city infrastructure, the presence of stands for spectators who watched the races with the help of FPV helmets and glasses, as well as a large space for the track, pilots' and organizers' area. DJI Odesa representative was also present at the competition. Dmitry demonstrated the work of Mavic 2 Enterprise model with installed modules - a speaker for remote sound transmission to the drone and a thermal imager, and afterwards he handed out gifts from DJI Odesa to the participants of the races.

The first day of the competition began with the registration of pilots, which numbered 26 people, familiarization with the track and qualification. The track at this stage included double gates with power-loop, ring and two towers for several spans, as well as regular gates and flags. The fastest qualifying time was 17.938 seconds.

On the second day the standings races started. Due to the small number of pilots, everyone who flew qualifying and posted a time made it to the table. Tension was growing with every hour, finally the electrical equipment could not withstand the heat and all the monitors went out right before the start of one of the heats. Thanks to Gennady managed to get the electronics back in order and continue tearing gates and flags with quads:

The pilots Modest Ach, Dmitry Faermark, Gennady Kondratyev and Alexander Alyoshin made it to the final of TOP 4. As a result of a tense and very fast race, on the 2nd and 3rd lap three pilots crashed either into the gate or into the ground and went off the track, and Gennady Kondratyev finished the race, taking the 1st place!
