FPV monitors

An FPV monitor allows you to view real-time video from the drone's camera during an FPV flight. Unlike FPV goggles, it has an open screen, so the pilot can watch the video and see their surroundings at the same time. This option is convenient for training, setting up the FPV system, and flights when there’s no need to use goggles.

FPV monitors are equipped with a built-in video receiver that picks up the signal from the video transmitter on the drone. Depending on the model, either analog or digital video systems are used. To connect an analog video signal, some monitors have an AV input via RCA (“tulip”) connectors. There are also models with a bright display, a mount for attaching to equipment, and a feature that displays the signal without a blue screen.

A sunshade comes in handy for flying in direct sunlight. It reduces glare on the display and helps you see the image more clearly. The monitor can be mounted directly onto the remote control using a special bracket, if the design allows for it.

The built-in DVR is also worth noting. The video recorder allows you to record FPV video to a memory card so you can later review the flight or analyze any mistakes made during control. Other important factors to consider when choosing a monitor include screen size and resolution, signal range, display brightness, battery life, and available interfaces.
