Description

The BetaFPV Nano RF TX module is based on the open source ExpressLRS project. The ExpressLRS project aims to achieve the highest possible channel performance in terms of both speed, latency and range. This makes ExpressLRS one of the most affordable RC projects for long range flights.

In V1 version of the module on ELRS2.0 and higher firmware does not work BLE Joystick mode and possible problem with WiFi Update Mode, i.e. the remote control cannot be used via Bluetooth as a joystick for simulators. It is possible to modify the module by adding a 3.3 volt linear regulator to the ESP power supply, which completely fixes these problems.

Compatibility

The BetaFPV Nano RF TX module is compatible with radio equipment that has a Lite/Nano compartment for the nano module, such as the Frsky Taranis X-Lite, Frsky Taranis X9D Lite, TBS Tango 2, etc.

Note: be sure to connect the antenna before turning on the module! Otherwise, the module chip will be irreversibly damaged.

Firmware update

The standard firmware for ELRS nano receiver and transmitter modules manufactured by BetaFPV is ELRS V1.0.0-RC5.
The ELRS Innovative team officially released the first major version V1.0.0 on July 17, 2021 with the following updates:

• 2.4G Nano TX module supports 500Hz refresh rate
• Triple tap the button on the module to enter tethering mode

BetaFPV strongly recommends updating the transmit module and receivers to the first major version V1.0.0. Alternatively, pilots can check this Github page for the latest released version.

Note:

• The TX module and receiver must be in the same ELRS version or the binding will fail
• The TX module does NOT support upgrading via Wi-Fi. Please use the ExpressLRS configurator to upgrade the firmware

What is ExpressLRS?

ExpressLRS is an open source RC project for RC components. Anyone can find this project on Github or join the discussion in the Facebook group.

ExpressLRS is based on Semtech Lora SX127x or SX1280 hardware for RX and TX respectively. It aims to achieve the best possible channel performance in terms of both speed, latency and range. At 900MHz, a maximum packet rate of 200Hz is supported, and at 2.4GHz an incredible 500Hz.

More and more manufacturers are starting to support the ExpressLRS radio protocol in various products such as radio transmitters with ELRS, drones with built-in ELRS receiver, ELRS TX modules for the JR bay or Nano bay. BetaFPV is directly involved in this project, gradually incorporating the new technology into its products.
