The best drone photos of 2017 at the International Drone Photography Contest

Dronestagram, the first social network dedicated to drone aerial photography, has organized a contest for the best photos for the fourth consecutive year in cooperation with National Geographic.

Out of 8,000 images, a special jury selected the three best entries in 4 categories: Nature, Urban, People, and the initially unplanned Creativity.

Guillaume Jarrett, Managing Director of Dronestagram, said: "We were stunned by the quality of the entries this year, the level of aerial photography has increased dramatically and so has the technology. It's a new photographic language and a new way of seeing the world."

La Vijanera Masquerade (La Vijanera) is a traditional annual winter festival in Spain. Before it was banned by Franco's dictatorship, it was held in many towns in Cantabria, but now only survives in the small town of Silio, thanks to locals who restored the tradition in 1982.
