Read moreThe Skyzone SKY04L V2 FPV video goggles are a simplified version of the SKY04X series.
First of all, SKY04L differ from the more expensive version by the presence of conventional LCOS displays, which significantly reduced the final cost of video goggles. However, the displays have a high resolution of 1280 x 960, which makes the image sharp and detailed. Also one of the differences is the smaller viewing angle to 39 degrees diagonally (46° in the SKY04X). In other features and elements, the SKY04L video glasses are no different from the SKY04X.
SKY04L will suit more users, because for the first time has an adjustable focal length (-6 ~ + 6), so people with vision problems will not need additional dioptres. Also for convenience, it comes with two masks for different face types.
Another huge step forward is the built-in Skyzone SteadyView 5.8G receiver module for 48 channels, which is as powerful and functional as the more expensive modules from ImmersionRC. The SteadyView receiver has two modes of operation: Diversity and RapidMix. Diversity is the standard mode in which the receiver selects the best signal from the two antennas, which reduces the possibility of total signal loss. In the case of RapidMix mode, the receiver combines the signal from both antennas, which makes the image more stable and clear in difficult flight conditions. The receiver has a USB Type-C interface for firmware updates.
In the past, Skyzone video goggles have struggled to replace the standard receiver, but with the SKY04L, if you're not happy with the SteadyView receiver, you can easily swap it out for any other receiver, such as those from TBS or ImmersionRC.
The complicated multifunctional menu buttons used on previous Skyzone FPV goggles are gone and have been replaced by intuitive menu scroll wheels.
The built-in digital video recorder (DVR) allows you to record your flight in a single file of up to 30 minutes on a Micro SD card up to 128Gb (Class 10). Unlike the S version, the Cobra X uses the modern H264 encoding format to record the video file. With the H264 codec, video files are compressed more efficiently, resulting in less quality loss and smaller file sizes. In case of sudden power loss during video recording, the recorded file will be corrupted, but the video helmet has a built-in function to restore the last corrupted file. You can set it to automatically start recording when the drone's FPV camera image appears.
Like all Skyzone goggles, the SKY04L has a lot of features and settings. The OSD menu has a wide range of settings and presets: video receiver, DVR, video playback, Head Tracker, as well as image quality settings: brightness, saturation, sharpness, etc. There are presets for image enhancement: brightness, saturation, sharpness, etc. There are presets for image enhancement: standard, bright, saturated, soft, custom, etc.
The SKY04Ls come with all the necessary cables for operation, and usefully, they can be powered directly from any 2S - 6S LiPo battery, as well as for the first time from a USB 5V power supply.
AV IN/OUT interfaces and HDMI input, allow the SKY04L to be used with the FatShark Shark Byte system.
