Read moreHappymodel EP82 Backpack module for controlling the Rapidfire VRX video receiver with the ELRS TX.
What is a TX Backpack?
Some of the ExpressLRS TX modules have an additional ESP8285 chip in the design that allows wireless communication with other ESP8285-enabled devices using the espnow protocol. Such a chip is referred to as a "TX-Backpack." The purpose of the TX-Backpack is to allow wireless communication between the ExpressLRS and other FPV devices, for control, monitoring or to request configuration.
What FPV devices is the TX Backpack compatible with?
The primary use case is your video receiver module (or VRX). Currently there aren't many VRX modules with the ESP8285 built in, allowing them to interface with the ExpressLRS, so in most cases you'll need to add your own. A small ESP-based receiver can be "plugged" into your VRX module, allowing ExpressLRS to control the range and channel that your FPV goggles are tuned to.
