Read moreThe second version of RunCam's multifunctional camera, Split 2, has taken some of the features of the first version and improved them to maximize the quality of shooting and comfort of use.
The most interesting innovation is that now you can supply voltage up to 17V (3 - 4S) directly from the battery.
The first version of the camera had no protection against reverse current when the user plugged in the USB cable to read recorded videos, which in some situations could damage the PDB or flight controller. Now there is no need to remove the SD card from the slot every time, connecting via USB cable will not damage the system.
The most externally noticeable change is the large metal plate on top of the PCB. It serves three main functions. First, the plate serves as a heatsink for cooling the components. Second, it provides additional protection for the components on the PCB from mechanical impact. And lastly, the plate holds the SD card with a small latch and keeps it from flying away and getting lost during collisions.
Starting with BetaFlight 3.2, you can customize the start and stop recording function via a toggle switch on the radio equipment. You can also control other camera settings via the radio equipment remote.
Also, the developers have abandoned the JST connector, so now all the necessary wires will have to be soldered to the board yourself. This makes the system more compact.
WiFi module is included in the standard package.
