Read moreUHU Plus Acrylit is a two-component acrylate adhesive that provides a fast-setting adhesive bond on many materials. It is also ideal for model making. UHU Plus Acrylit is high strength, bridges gaps, sandable and highly vibration resistant. Processing time 7-10 minutes, curing after 15-20 minutes, sanding after 25 minutes.
Application: glues models made of hard plastics such as PC (polycarbonate) and PS (polystyrene types ABS, ASA, SAN, SEI), rigid PVC (PVC-polyvinyl chloride), celluloseester (CA, CAB, CN), stone, ceramics, wood, metal, glass. Not suitable for bonding large glass surfaces, polyethylene, polypropylene, polytetrafluorethane, foam.
It is necessary to mix the components (adhesive:hardener) in the ratio of 12:1 (by weight). For this purpose it is best to use the included tub for dosing and mixing. One bar of adhesive corresponds to one large spoonful of hardener. Half a bar of adhesive corresponds to a small spoonful of hardener.
The preparation time depends on the temperature and on the amount of mixture. At a temperature of 25 degrees and a mixture weight of 5 grams, it will be ready in 7-10 minutes. By this time the glue should be applied and the parts should be pressed against each other. After application, just lightly press the surfaces against each other. Heavy pressure is not required.
The glue will cure in 15-20 minutes, after 25 minutes the glued parts can be machined. Since glue curing is an exothermic process, heat is released. The thicker the layer, the higher the temperature of the glue. Therefore, when applying a thick layer of glue to thin plastic parts, special attention must be paid to this feature to avoid deformations.
The adhesive joint is resistant to aging, unfavorable weather factors, non-concentrated acids and alkalis, gasoline and oils, and remains stable in the temperature range from -30 to +90C.
No special surface preparation is required. It is necessary to remove only coarse dirt (dust, grease and rust). In any case, degreasing with solvents (acetone or nitro solvents) is recommended.
Removal of adhesive residues: It is possible to remove adhesive residues if they have not yet hardened. To do this, use acetone or nitro solvent. To remove adhesive residue from the mixing tray, press on it from below. The hardened adhesive can be removed with methylene chloride or trichloroethylene (it is recommended to do it in protective overalls).
Safety precautions: both components in liquid form can cause serious irritation to eyes, skin and respiratory organs if they come into contact with eyes, skin and respiratory organs, therefore direct contact with them should be avoided. If the glue gets into the eyes, flush with plenty of water and seek medical attention. If glue gets on your hands, wash them immediately with soap and water. The cured adhesive is absolutely safe and odorless.
